Neck lift is a surgical procedure to remove excess fat and sagging skin around the jaw line, creating a more youthful appearance. Neck lifts may include removal of fat, tightening of underlying muscles and connective tissues, and tightening of the skin.
Neck Lift for Women
For women, correction of excess or loose skin and fat in the neck can be incorporated into a face lift procedure. This is done by extending the incision behind the ear and into the scalp, commonly referred to as a Neck Lift. The neck itself can be addressed through incisions hidden in skin creases and behind the ear without having to elevate the tissues of the face, if the neck contour issues are of most concern. Liposuction can be helpful where there is excess local fat under the chin. Liposuction may be appropriate as a sole treatment for patients with minimal skin excess and good skin elasticity, or in combination with the lifting procedures described.
